Edge and Keystone Sports Construction Achieve Early Successes

Newark, NJ, April 26, 2023 –Edge, the region’s nonprofit research and education network and technology partner, is pleased to announce early successes as a result of a partnership with Keystone Sports Construction (Keystone) to make their design-build and support services for technology-enabled sports surfaces available via EdgeMarket. Edge K-12 member Edison Public Schools has signed on for two projects–a Turf and Track Replacement at Edison High School and a Turf and Track Replacement at JP Stevens High School.

The EdgeMarket partnership with Keystone officially launched in late-February 2023 following a thorough RFP process wherein Keystone was awarded the contract giving co-op participants the ability to efficiently and affordably procure smart athletic surfaces. EdgeMarket provides safe, simple, smart technology procurement options for higher education and public sector entities.

“We have been in discussion with Edison Public Schools about facility upgrades since last summer. Edison elected to utilize Keystone’s EdgeMarket contract to streamline procurement of the latest in synthetic turf and running track technology,” explains Benjamin Seleznow, President, Keystone Sports Construction. “With construction slated to break ground this summer, we’re thrilled that our surfaces will provide an enhanced athletic experience for student-athletes. Through our nationwide partnership with Edge, we are now able to offer these cutting-edge solutions to even more institutions, ” Seleznow concluded.

Technology-enabled athletic surfaces allow institutions, athletes, and coaches to optimize athletic performance and health outcomes via a wealth of data generated during the course of athletic activity. With years of experience in the industry and as a member of the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), Keystone Sports Construction (Keystone) has the credentials and expertise to design, engineer, construct and care for a variety of cutting edge smart athletic surfaces.

Notes Edge’s Dan Miller, Associate Vice President, EdgeMarket, “Edge members have relied on the organization to provide technology services and solutions for nearly 30 years–always with a keen eye on ever-evolving technological innovations. Smart athletic surfaces represent the latest adaptation of technology while simultaneously helping our member community achieve the athletic components of their respective missions by enabling athletic departments to better serve their student-athletes through the use of technology and data.”
